About Us

Town Walls Tennis Club is situated by the River Severn and under the historic town walls of the picturesque medieval town of Shrewsbury.


The present Club was established in the 1950s, when the three courts and the club house were all refurbished. Since then it has always remained a lively club with many successful competitive teams in the league and also producing some Shropshire champions.

The club has approximately 120 members of varying standards and ages. All are welcomed to play in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere.  We offer a perfect balance for competitive players looking to advance their skills or for social players who want to meet people in an active, friendly and sociable enviroment.

Members can take advantage of the full Summer Shropshire League programme, Autumn League Mixed Doubles and Winter Woollies League if they wish to play team tennis.  The Club also offers a wide range of events throughout the year including social play, club championships, charity tournaments, professional coaching,  junior programmes and social events.

The Club has always been maintained and run by an enthusiastic band of members who keep the Club and its facilities in an excellent condition.

Professional coaching is available for individuals and small groups.
