Triathlon 2013

On Sunday 7th September we concluded the 2013 Triathlon Team doubles with the table tennis event at Lower Cound Farm.  In good spirits and knowing that any one of the teams could be the overall winner, the final battle was the table tennis.  21 Players completed 48 matches in total.  Teresa Thomas deserves a special mention, playing singles, she turned in a magnificent performance winning all 8 of her matches gaining a maximum of 72 points.  The best doubles scoring pair with 63 points was Mary Molloy and Jackie Winwood for team C.  The overall winner of the three disciplines of Tennis, Croquet and Table Tennis was team C, 'The Oddballs'.  Congratulations to team Captain Mary Molloy and the team.
Many thanks to Barbara Edwards, who again has done an enormous amount to organise this very enjoyable and sociable competition.  Thanks also to George and Barbara for hosting the table tennis in their Barn at Lower Cound Farm and providing a wonderful afternoon tea at all the events.  Thank you also to the Shrewsbury Croquet Club for hosting and guiding us at the Club Crocquet Lawns at Monkmoor.  As a small token of our enormous appreciation, Club Chairman, Gerry Lynch, presented Barbara with a bouquet of flowers.
